We stayed for a week in the cave houses and although they're not huge, they have everything you will need including a welcome package.
The caves are clean and have all amenities including WiFi and a small plunge pool. We walked several hours early each day with our dogs, and explored the surrounding villages and towns in the afternoon.
Each evening we walked down to the local bar/restaurant Emilio's which was very friendly and welcoming.
We speak passable Spanish so it was great for us to hone our linquistic skills, but Emelio and staff do speak some English. The drink prices were very low and we were amazed that each drink orered came with a tapa. The owners were very kind and made us feel very welcome and arranged a private bar b que for us, there was also an option of a paella meal.
It's a fascinating area with limitless cave houses to see. We are now planning a return visit.

We’ve “done” both Geco and Lince once apiece, so a really difficult decision on which cave to visit on this, our third visit to these wonderful holiday caves run by the very charming family Wickham – Viv, Liv and Ian.
In the end we went for Lince as this time we travelled as just a couple with less need for the two double rooms of Geco and more need for the extra living room that Lince has.
As with the previous two visits, a great relaxing holiday in these residences with a very definite difference, set in an amazing landscape.
Several visits to nearby towns including a return visit to the pretty Castril, this time to climb up to the monument with its amazing views, and Orce. Also a long drive through the campo and the stunning scenery around the back of the highest mountain in the area – Sierra de La Sagra. And coffee at the lovely Hotel Galera.
The cave was wonderfully presented with lovely clean rooms and comfy beds. There was a most welcome “welcome pack” left for us – a great thought since we arrived so late and didn’t have time to by the essential groceries. And with wireless and a TV available, what more could you want.
And to top it all, how could we forget the BBQ, courtesy of Ian, eaten as we watched the sun go down, and other meals wonderfully prepared by Viv. Until next time…

Outstanding accommodation - superb value for money - stunning location
We booked a family holiday here - our first in Inland Spain. The communication from the owners was outstanding- with advice on directions from the airport, advice on hiring a car and how to get to the supermarket in Baza en route.
On arrival we had a very warm welcome and walked into our spacious well appointed apartment and found a welcome pack with some essentials. My jaw dropped when I saw the appointment - talk about value for money !!! Everything we needed and very comfortable. it was extremely clean and I admitted to feeling ashamed to use the oven - it was so clean I felt that I must have been the first to use it, but I wasn't.
The detail and length Viv And Ian go to is amazing. We felt so comfortable here.
We were given a pack with details of local places to visit and things to do. However they are always on hand if you need further advice. You can just relax here if you want - I felt relaxed upon arrival - instantly but there are some great things to do locally. It's quiet and peaceful here and very Spanish
I would return at the drop of a hat - I am here with my wife and 11 year old daughter - it's outstanding

Charming Cave
When one thinks of a 'cave' it is usually in terms of dark, damp and gloomy! These 'caves' are the absolute opposite ; Bright ,light and airy.
First experience of a cave house and we loved it.Beautifully and tastefully renovated by the owners The kitchen is bright and airy with modern fittings. The sitting room has lovely windows with views across the grounds and beyond into the valley.. The bedrooms do not have windows but with the modern furnishings and lighting they are not at all gloomy and with the peacful stillness offer the chance of a perfect nights sleep . The hosts are welcoming and helpful. They live on the complex which is always a good sign in my experience.
We only stayed for two nights as we were vsiting the area for a short break but we will definitely return to enjoy more of the hospitallity and the area.

We have had a wonderful Christmas week in the cave house. Warm, cosy and comfortable and a bonus with fantastic Sunny weather. The local bar is fabulous with good food, tapas, and drinks at a very good price, very friendly and helpful.
Ian and Viv were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble.
The area is lovely and very unspoilt with stunning scenery. This is our first visit here, but not our first Cave House experience. We have booked to come back again along with our good friends from the UK, looking forward to experiencing the plunge pool, BBQs and hot weather.

Viv and Ian were great hosts.
Property was great in every way. All kitchen supplies were provided. Wine can be purchased from them for €4 a bottle.
Cave itself was warm and comfortable despite being cold outside.
It was in a good location with a nice restaurant within walking distance. The whole area is beautiful with spectacular mountain ranges.
Plus, there is a 1.5 hour circular nature walk nearby in the charming village of Castril along with beautiful Portillo’s lake.
We had an outstanding weekend there!

We were pleasantly surprised that Cuevas Lince was as warm and cosy as the welcome from Viv and Ian. Delightfully decorated with comfy beds in quiet and still surroundings, perfect.

First time in a cave
I was travelling with friends and we needed a two bedroom apartment for a couple of nights . when they suggested a cave house ,I was a bit taken aback and was not sure what to expect.
My apprehension was groundless as we were met at the gate by the owners who made us most welcome and explained all the facilities together with details of local restaurants .on entering the cave I was taken aback ,not at all what I was expecting ,it was clean beautifully furnished with great rooms and a wood burner in the lounge with a plentiful supply of wood .
Sleeping in a cave is a fantastic experience ,it is a constant temperature and so quiet ( and dark at night) great nights sleep.
I would recommend the breakfast option as it is good value for money and gets you off to a good start to the day without any messing about .
Very friendly ,clean accommodation and highly recommended and I can now say I have slept in a cave 😄
