A beautiful drive up to El Cerro de la Virgen last week near Orce to find the site of one of the first bronze age settlements, there is also an archeological centre up there. It was absolutely beautiful in the Winter sunshine. There are other archaeological sites of Barranco Leon, Venta Micena and Fuente nueva just past Orce which we will pay a visit to sometime. Their finds are displayed in the museum in Orce and worth paying a visit to. In this area there is evidence of the first traces of mankind in Iberia, the archaeological digs uncovering proof of settlers there from millions of years ago.
